HQRP Server Rules

1. Core Values

HighQuality RP is built around serious, story-driven roleplay. Every interaction should feel realistic and meaningful. Players are expected to act in good faith and contribute to an immersive environment for everyone.

2. Respect & Conduct

Treat all players with respect, both in and out of character. Harassment, discrimination, or toxic behavior will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Keep disagreements in character when possible and avoid personal attacks.

3. Fail Roleplay (FailRP)

FailRP is any action that breaks realism or ignores believable behavior.
Examples include:

  • Acting without regard for your character’s safety

  • Ignoring injuries or consequences

  • Unrealistic actions that would not happen in real life

4. Metagaming

Metagaming is using information your character would not realistically know.
This includes:

  • Using Discord, streams, or outside communication to gain an advantage

  • Acting on information you did not learn in character

5. Powergaming

Powergaming is forcing actions or outcomes onto others without giving them a fair chance to respond.
Examples include:

  • Forcing injuries or actions onto another player

  • Unrealistic or unavoidable actions that remove roleplay opportunities

6. Fear Roleplay

Your character values their life. When faced with serious threats, you are expected to respond realistically.
Do not act fearless in situations where a normal person would comply or hesitate.

7. New Life Rule (NLR)

If your character is incapacitated or killed, you are expected to forget the events leading up to that situation.
Returning to the same situation or seeking revenge using that information is not allowed.

8. Random Deathmatch (RDM) & Vehicle Deathmatch (VDM)

  • RDM: Killing or attacking without proper roleplay or reasoning

  • VDM: Using a vehicle as a weapon without valid roleplay

Both are strictly prohibited.

9. Value of Life

Your character must always prioritize their life and safety.
Reckless behavior without regard for consequences will be treated as poor roleplay.

10. Roleplay Over Winning

This is not about “winning” situations. It’s about creating good stories.
Sometimes your character loses. That’s part of roleplay.

11. Communication Rules

  • Stay in character during roleplay situations

  • Do not break immersion unnecessarily

  • Use out-of-character communication only when needed and appropriately

12. Exploits & Cheating

Using bugs, exploits, or third-party software to gain an advantage is strictly prohibited and will result in severe punishment.

13. Staff Authority

Staff decisions are final. If you disagree with a decision, handle it respectfully through proper channels.
Do not argue in public or disrupt roleplay.

14. Character Standards

All characters must be realistic.

  • No superhuman abilities

  • No unrealistic backstories that break immersion

  • Your character should fit within the world naturally

  • Any Supernatural Roleplay MUST be approved by Staff

15. Combat & Group Limits

To keep combat fair and prevent situations from becoming unnecessarily overwhelming, the following limits apply:

  • Group vs. Group: Maximum of 4 players per group may actively participate.

  • Group vs. Police: Maximum of 5 players on the criminal/group side and 10 officers on the police side may actively participate.

  • Players may not rotate additional members into an active situation to bypass these limits.

  • Anyone who actively assists the group during the situation counts toward the limit, including shooters, drivers, lookouts, or other direct participants.

Turf Exception: A group defending its own established turf may use as many of its members as it wants while defending that turf. This exception only applies to the group whose turf the situation is taking place on.

16. Motorcycles & Getaway Vehicles

Motorcycles cannot be used as getaway vehicles for crimes.

  • You may not plan or commit a crime with a motorcycle as your escape/getaway vehicle.

  • This applies to robberies, heists, thefts, and other criminal activities where a getaway vehicle is involved.

  • Switching to a motorcycle during an active escape to bypass this rule is also prohibited.

  • Traffic stops are excluded from this rule. If police initiate a traffic stop while you are already riding a motorcycle, you may flee on it.

17. Police Corruption

Police corruption is not permitted.

Law enforcement characters may not engage in corrupt behavior, including but not limited to:

  • Accepting bribes

  • Selling or providing police equipment or information

  • Intentionally helping criminals avoid charges or capture

  • Tampering with or intentionally destroying evidence

  • Abusing police powers for criminal benefit

  • Participating in criminal organizations or criminal activity through their police position

18. DOJ & DOC Corruption

DOJ corruption is not permitted.

Judges, prosecutors, and other DOJ officials may not use their position, authority, or access to benefit criminals or engage in corrupt activity.

Private attorneys are exempt from the DOJ corruption rule and may participate in appropriate criminal/corrupt roleplay provided it follows all other server rules.

DOC corruption is not permitted.

Department of Corrections employees may not abuse their position to assist criminals, smuggle contraband, intentionally facilitate escapes, provide restricted information, or otherwise participate in corrupt activity.

19. Use Common Sense

Not every situation can be covered by rules. If something feels wrong or unrealistic, it probably is. Use good judgment at all times.
